We were going on a Yokota Floater when flying into Elemendorf from McChord part
of the wing broke off. Water had seep into a crack on the wing and froze which
shattered the honeycomb and the wing skin.

We did not notice any aerodynamic changes of any significance except some
aileron trim. The Nav was complaining he couldn't shoot any stars through the
sextant because of all the snow at this altitude. There is No snow at FL 370 so
I looked through the sextant and noticed the snow coming from the right wing.
Looked like hundreds of pieces of metal flakes. We couldn't see the hole until
     after we landed.

12 hours later we left for Yokota. Maintenance had filled the wing cavity with
resin and scab patch the five foot hole to get a perm repair 18 days later at
     home base.
